Film Festival to Feature Columbia Flicks

Columbia's presence will be strong at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, where 10 new student, alumni and former faculty films will be screened. This follows the the University's remarkable success earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Three feature length films and seven shorts are scheduled to premiere at the festival, which will run from April 25th - May 6th.

The films to be screened include the features Blue State, directed and written by Marshall Lewy, (Film ’06); Normal Adolescent Behavior, directed and written by Beth Schacter. (Film ’04); and Take the Bridge, directed by Sergio M. Castilla, a former Film Division professor. The shorts are A Warm, Comforting Home, directed by Annette Apitz (Film ’98); Dear Lemon Lima, directed and written by Suzi Yoonessi (Film ’06); Happiness, directed and written by Sophie Barthes (MIA ’03); Lock, directed by Ming Kai Leung (Film ’06); Raving, directed and written by Julia Stiles (CC ’06); Red Shoes, directed and written by Li-Anne Huang (Film ’08); and Thorndike, directed and written by Chris Teague (Film ’06).
