Columbia University to Hold Candlelight Vigil for Virginia Tech Victims

The events of yesterday's mass shooting at Virginia Tech have shocked a nation, leaving in its wake immeasurable sadness. To help students, faculty and staff through this difficult time, Columbia University will hold a candlelight vigil Wednesday evening to remember those who lost their lives and to show support for the friends and family members hit hardest by this tragedy.

The vigil will begin at 9 pm at the Sundial located on the college walk in front of Low Library. Entrance is at 116th Street, from Broadway or Amsterdam. Student councils will provide candles, but students are encouraged to bring their own as well.

Following the vigil, the Columbia Psychological Services Center will be open for any students wishing to meet with staff there. The center is located on the 8th floor of Lerner Hall, at the corner of 115th and Broadway.
